David Letterman may be making light of the affairs he’d been having with his employees over the past few years but his wife Regina Lasko sure isn’t laughing.
David publicly apologized to wife for his poor behaviour – but insists it’s still “chilly” at home.
While David and Regina have only been married a few months, the couple had been dating since 1986 which means that David had been seeing (and sleeping with) other women while he was in an exclusive relationship with Lasko.
Whether or not David and Regina’s marriage will last has yet to be determined but David revealed that the road to reconciliation may be longer than he initially expected:
"She [Regina] has been horribly hurt by my behavior, and when something happens like that, if you hurt a person and it's your responsibility, you try to fix it," he said during his opening monologue.
"At that point, there's only two things that can happen: Either you're going to make some progress and get it fixed, or you're going to fall short and perhaps not get it fixed, so let me tell you folks, I got my work cut out for me."
While it wasn’t the most sincere of apologies, at least he’s started addressing his wife’s feelings.
We’re happy that she isn’t letting him off the hook as easily as most famous wives do these days. Don’t stand by your husband if he’s a cheater – make him work for your respect and your trust again and he’ll respect you more in the end.
We hope David and Regina can eventually work things out.
Do you think they’ll divorce or stay together?
