Beyonce is hitting the music scene hard once again with her new song Run the World. The multi-platinum superstar debuted part of her new video on last night’s episode of American Idol and the reactions from fans seem to be mixed.

While many love the upbeat dance numbers and attitude-filled characteristics of Beyonce’s character in the video, some are saying it’s too over-the-top and the former Destiny’s Child singer is trying too hard to stand out.

Personally, I think the video is great. It’s high energy and fierce. My only problem is, I can’t stand the song (it’s too repetitive and unoriginal), which makes it a little difficult to enjoy the video.

At least she’s still empowering women…
