Sanjaya is already a star, and he's not just for kids. My whole work crew votes for him and we actually enjoy his MP3s when we work. We do think he can sing! We are ages 17 to 57.

The hate on Sanjaya factor is largely a backlash against something new, and against his age. A lot of the bashers are racist, homophobic, or the type of males who--like something off of NG--feel so threatened they want to throw the young male out of the herd. The press, as usual, just wants to appeal to whom they think are the "masses", but usually appeal to the lowest common denominator.

We love Sanjaya! We think the ponyhawk is here to stay!!!

I am sorry if this offends any one but i cannot stand Sanjaya!!! he is ruining the show! and i think that he is only there to be on TV!!!!!

But then they should either change the name or not making a "singing competition". If they wanted to find the next role model, they shouldn't be even singing then.

Sanjaya is a JOKE! American Idol, I thought, is for singers, not hair fashions. Maybe he should look for contests for hairstyles. I never watched before, and I tell you this: If Sanjaya wins, or even comes close, I'll never watch again.

At the beginning of this American Idol season, I thought it would surely be the most boring season ever. Instead Sanjaya brought life to the show. The only reason I watch the American Idol is because of Sanjaya. Let's face it, there are millions of people that can sing. But Sanjaya brings more to the show. He is someone I admire and respect. People have been so nasty to him and he's done nothing to deserve that. He's proven he's an entertainer, not afraid to go out on a limb, be different or try something new. Sure there are better singers on the show but what do they do to make the show more interesting? They stay in their safety zones. They are the same each week. I will vote for Sanjaya every week. He's awesome. I'm in my 50's and don't know anything about a guy named Stern.

I think the most of the homosapiens tht hate sanjaya sooooo much are closet racists..they can stomach the fact tht someone with a different color and of indian origin can do better than their poster boys/girls...well tis great country is a land of immigrants and success comes to those who can dream big..and sanjaya has done just that...inspite of all the odds...and I as an American respect tht.

Sanjaya has a beautiful voice and anyone that thinks otherwise has a weird interpretation of what singing is. I'm a mature woman ,and i have heard plenty of good and bad voices .Sanjaya is a delight and easy to listen to. Sanjaya makes you want to keep singing whatever he sings. Sure wish he would add some great dancing to his songs and perform on TV AGAIN.
