I think there's been a little misunderstanding of the point of this piece. There's a difference between writing a Britney story and writing a Britney gossip story.

This post is rooted in social commentary, not in Britney's situation. I gave the details of the current headlines for context alone, but you'll find no attempts to sensationalize the facts or fuel further speculation on what Britney is, isn't or will be. It's no different than reporting on a war from the perspective of a soldier.

I would encourage everyone to read critically - even when you think it's just celebrity gossip. Because between babies being born and celebs getting arrested, there's an undercurrent of social condition in the celebrity lifestyle that can be dangerous if it gets out of hand.

It's out of hand for Britney, so I used my forum to speak up about the balance between hollywood escapism and media invasion. If you wonder why i write about celebrities, it's because i like to think that for every smutty, trifling gossip story out there, there's a piece that encourages you to look a little deeper. And i'd rather have people reading the latter, than the former.

It's okay to enjoy the headlines, but be wary of putting the blinders on to what you're reading. While celebrities do open up their lives to the public, there are still boundaries that the public and the media need to respect. That is the point of this piece.

I understand and appreciate the point of your piece. However, your timing and topic leave me to question the sincerity of your request for the rags to leave her alone. Why publish this the day her niece was born? And, her suicide attempts are merely alleged. Why not write a nice story about the birth of her niece and include your request to leave her alone in a positive piece?
