Yesterday was a big day for news in Hollywood. Not only did Matt Damon and his wife Luciana announce the birth of their second child but Matt’s best friend Ben Affleck and his wife, Jennifer Garner also announced they were expecting their second child.

We’re not sure whether each couple knew of the others’ news when they released their statements but it’s a little ironic that Hollywood’s hottest bromance both had big news to share on the same day.

“Matt and Luciana had a baby girl named Gia Zavala on Wednesday August 20th. Everyone’s doing great,” Damons rep revealed to PEOPLE.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Garner finally spilled the beans on her pregnancy and how excited she and Ben are for their new arrival.

“We're so excited, obviously," Garner told Access Hollywood.

And so are we! More baby news just means more excitement to look forward to in the upcoming year.

Christina Applegate stayed strong in front of the camera as she opened up to Good Morning America interviewer Robin Roberts about her struggle with breast cancer but the 36-year-old actress couldn’t manage to hold back her tears when the cameras stopped rolling.

The courageous actress, who was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, recently had a double mastectomy – even though the cancer was only detected in one breast.

The Samantha Who star has been vigilant in booking regular mammogram appointments, as her mother has been struggling with breast cancer for years and was worried she may have passed the gene onto her daughter.

Unfortunately, she did pass the gene onto Applegate, who admits she was “pissed off” when she was given the results of her tests.

Despite what some reports may say, Christina did not undergo chemotherapy or radiation after her diagnosis. 3 weeks ago Applegate had the double mastectomy surgery.

"I didn't want to go back to the doctors every four months for testing and squishing and everything”, she reveals to Roberts.

“I just wanted to kind of be rid of this whole thing for me. This was the choice that I made, and it was a tough one."

And while the strong-willed actress will spend a significant amount of time over the next eight months undergoing reconstructive surgery, her sense of humor is still intact.

“You know, I’m gonna have cute boobs until I’m 90,” Christina jokes.

“I’m gonna have the best boobs in the nursing home. I’m going to be the envy of all the ladies around the bridge table.”

And this isn’t the only struggle Christina has been dealing with over the past few months. The blonde beauty was devastated after hearing news that her ex-boyfriend, Lee Grivas, was found dead in his Hollywood apartment.

But the brave actress isn’t going let anything hold her back. Not only is she determined to overcome anything that happens in her life, she’s also starting a program to help high-risk, underprivileged women who can’t afford the proper tests to screen for breast cancer.

Christina is an idol in our eyes. We wish her only the best in the future.

Miley Cyrus may only be 15 years old but she’s hitting the dating scene harder than most girls twice her age.

To be honest, we’re kind of relieved to see Miley getting cozy with someone her own age. Adam seems like he has his head on straight and could be a good influence on Miley, who appears to be heading down a path of destruction faster than Britney Spears after her head-shaving fiasco.

In our opinion, Adam is a big “Step Up” from Miley’s other boy-toys.

The hair was flying in Paris yesterday as cosmetics giant L’Oreal came under scrutiny for a ‘questionable’ print advertisement. The ad at the center of all this commotion features the lovely, but ‘lighter skinned’ Beyonce Knowles promoting the Brands Feria Hair Color Line.

Speculation surrounds the intentions behind Beyonce’s lighter appearance in the ad – was is it the lighting used in the photo shoot or was it an intentional move to make Beyonce look less ethnic and more ‘white’?. “We highly value our relationship with [Beyonce]. It is categorically untrue that L’Oreal Paris altered [her] features or skin tone in the campaign for Feria hair color” remarked the Paris-based company on Thursday.

The ad will be published in the September issues of Elle, Allure and Essence Magazines. Surely not the last we’ll hear about this scandal, we hope that this has been an unintentional mishap involving the lighting used at the photo shoot and not the opposite.

Good God man, it doesn’t get any hotter than Beyonce – why would anyone want to change that natural beauty?

Funny or die? The Paris Hilton for President video on funnyordie.com makes us want to both chuckle and find a creative way to off ourselves, so it’s win / win.

The back story is that Presidential hopeful John McCain released a campaign ad that likened his opponent, Barack Obama, to celebrities like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, claiming that his status as an international pop figure with an entourage of adoring fans makes him unfit to be President.

“Like most worldwide celebrities, this status has fueled a certain arrogance,” a McCain memo stated of Barack’s superstardom and his image of eliteness. The ad in itself poses the question regarding Obama, “He’s the biggest celebrity in the world, but is he ready to lead?”

While Obama quickly – and yes, rather arrogantly as is his way - brushed off the video and turned the negative message back on Old Man McCain, news of the ad filtered to Paris Hilton herself. In a rather a rather mischievous use of her ample spare time, the starlet decided to retaliate with a video of her own, sponsored by FunnyOrDie.com.

“I’m Paris Hilton and I’m a celebrity too,” the ponytailed pointless princess said in her on-camera introduction, adding, “Only I’m not from the olden days and I’m not promising change like that other guy. I’m just hot.”

Goodbye, Farewell, Britney Forever

In this, the last post by AliceB before she hangs up her blogging shoes (yes, there is such a thing!), we’re loathe to get political - but we will. Obama, McCain, young, old, arrogant, geezerly, we’re not sure whom we’d choose. But it’s going to be interesting to see an ad war that slings more poo than Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards in their divorce battle.

As for Paris for President, well we’re in no danger of seeing that anytime soon. As long as the general public doesn’t forget about global warming and poverty in favor of all tiny dogs wearing cute sweaters, we should be pretty safe.

Playgirl Magazine, a sister in sm*t to big boys like Penthouse and Playboy Magazine, is ready for the Big “O” – going online we mean, and not whatever it is you were thinking.

“Playgirl is going all-Web,” editor-in-chief Nicole Caldwell stated about the shift in direction for the soft-core Playgirl image. “The last print issue will be the Jan/Feb 2009 magazine, which comes out Nov. 18.”

Although details haven’t been confirmed on the new objective, it looks like the revamp of Playgirl.com will cut down on the editorial and focus on videos and photos – just like we like it!

Interestingly, although Playgirl was created in 1973 to cater to a feminist audience, it’s not just the ladies who will be affected by the change. According to a 2003 report, roughly 50 percent of Playgirl readers were actually gay men. That would explain John Travolta on the cover…oh we kid!

Also, in a strange differentiation from Playboy Magazine which has seen stars like Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra gracing the cover, Playgirl has been a little light on male celebrities taking center stage – or make that centerfold.

Still, it has published the nude or nearly-nude hardbods of celebs like Kevin Sorbo, Sylvester Stallone and Keith Urban, and it even had the balls (pardon the pun) to run unauthorized photos of a naked Brad Pitt.

Zoiks!

Not that we’re acknowledging a penchant for porn, but we have to admit we’re a little bummed to learn that Playgirl’s readership numbers have gone limp and that the magazine will finish prematurely (okay, those are just bad!).

There’s something about getting your porn the old-fashioned way, in an illicit, dirty hardcopy that taunts you from across the room, rather than from a cold computer screen, that we’ll be sad to see go!

Jess vaguely explained herself, claiming “I don't want to talk about it, but I have definitely experienced abuse in a way that I would tell people to take their heart and run."

The “Come on Over” singer was previously married to Nick Lachey and has pursued relationships with John Mayer and Tony Romo since her divorce. Jessica and Tony are still dating, leaving many to wonder who exactly is responsible for hurting her so bad.
