Too small, too big, too young, too old...what is the modeling industry coming to? Modeling officials all over the world are now concerned that models are not only becoming too small, but too young as well. Britain's Model Health Inquiry is pushing for models who are younger than 16 years of age to be banned from the catwalk. This news coming just months after Britain fought against banning super-skinny models from the runway.

Britain's modeling industry made headlines last September when the chairman of London Fashion Week, Stuart Rose, refused to ban models with a body mass index of less than 18 from walking the runway. Milan initiated the ban and was shocked when the London representatives went against their motion. Rose claimed that the designers should be given full creative control over what their models look like and that weight should not play a factor in the models ability to work the runway.
If a model looked so thin and unhealthy then a designer wouldn't choose them to 'sell' their clothes in the first place. Who's to say what is too small? Two people can weigh the exact same and be the exact same height but look completely different. That said, there is no other industry in the world that could get away with refusing people work on the basis of their appearance or weight, so why should it be acceptable here?
I can see where the controversy of age can come into play. In most industries you are allowed to refuse employment to an individual because of their age. Men and women in the modeling industry are used as eye-candy in order to sell the clothes. Unless they are clearly selling children's clothes it makes me a little uneasy to think of a 16 year old being gawked at as she walks down the runway in a barely-there outfit.
So when it comes down to it, I can see how Britain would fight to ban younger models from participating in an adult fashion show but I still can't see how you can justify banning models on the basis of their weight. In my opinion, Britain has everything under control in their industry and they're making all the right decisions!

All the beautiful people made an appearance at the Costume Institute Gala at the MET in New York; the evening was a celebrity packed event with heavy doses of glamour.
One of the most fabulous fashion events of the year, the Costume Institute Gala saw fashion forward designs out in full force. Designers and celebrities sporting the visions they created, came together for an evening that celebrates everything decadant and fashionable.
There were some definite trends at the Gala this year; the clear winner being brightly colored frocks in a myriad of gorgeous colors.

While there was no shortage of luxurious, goddess inspired gowns, some Hollywood starlets chose to walk the red carpet in shorter dresses. They were flirty and just a bit sassy; the glam factor was kept alive with metallic fabric and glittering details.

And still other celebrities chose to flaunt their curves, making sure that all eyes were on them.

Best and Worst Dressed of the Evening:
I loved Christina Ricci's look; she looked elegant and chic in this simple, yet sexy, stunning white sheath of a gown. And while I do applaud Kirsten Dunst for her adventurous fashion sense, this gown makes her look like she took the costume theme a little too literally.

Beyonce is the next celebrity face in our Celebrity Makeup 101 series; we break down the look, step by step, so that you will have no problem looking like a sultry diva. Think Fashion worked with pro makeup artist Sheri Stroh to bring you these helpful tips and tricks - go on have fun with your look!

This show stopping diva’s makeup is always a hit. Beyonce highlights her best feature, her eyes, with smoky, seductive shadows for a look that is both pretty and beguiling. Want to look like a diva? Check out these tips and tricks.
STEP ONE
Start by concealing any dark circles and blemishes. Use a concealer brush to blend concealer under your eyes, and anywhere else there is redness. For blemishes, try a concealer with a thicker consistency and dab it directly onto the spot with a small brush. Blend the concealer out with your fingers or a cotton swab. Set with loose powder.
STEP TWO
Make your eyes pop with purple eye shadow. Try to find a palette of purples that will compliment your skin tone. For warm skin tones, look for warm, red-based purples; cool skins should look for blue-based purples. Apply a darker purple shade close to the lash line and blend it up towards the crease. Use a medium shade of purple blended into the darker shade and up to just past the crease.
STEP THREE
For added drama, line the top and bottom lash lines with black liner. For a softer look, try using a black eye shadow applied with an angled liner brush. Apply several coats of black mascara to the lashes.
To properly apply mascara, first wipe off the mascara wand with a tissue to avoid clumping. Roll out the wand on your lashes from the base to the ends. Allow to dry for 30 seconds between coats.
Tip: Stroh recommends always curling lashes before putting on mascara.
STEP FOUR
When sporting a dramatic eye look, keep the rest of your makeup simple. A neutral blush and a nude lip is all you need to complete this look.

Jessica Simpson is the second famous face in our Celebrity 101 series - we joined forces with celebrity makeup artist, Sheri Stroh, to give you the breakdown for Jessica's sexy look.

Sex-kitten du jour, Jessica Simpson, always steps out with an expertly made up face. Her makeup choices are pretty consistent; golden skin, full lashes, and a pink pout. To get a look that is both sexy and demure, check out these simple steps:
STEP ONE
Prep the skin with a primer that has a hint of bronzer to help even out your skin tone. Use a creamy, lightweight concealer to cover any dark circles and any redness- around the nose, and on any blemishes. Make sure to blend well. If you are prone to shine, lightly dust a translucent loose powder over your forehead, nose, and chin with a large fluffy powder brush.
STEP TWO
For the eyes, start with a shimmering rosy-taupe or gold shadow all over the lid and use an earthy, metallic bronze shade to line the upper lash line, blending up towards the crease. Smudge the bronze shade underneath the lower lash line as well. Use a shimmering light taupe shadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with black mascara on top and bottom lashes.
STEP THREE
For Jessica’s rosy glow, use a shimmering bronzer or blush to contour your cheeks and a light pink highlighting powder on top of your cheekbones.
STEP FOUR
Go for pink lips- for light skins choose a clear, cool based baby pink, or cool toned bright pink, darker skin tones can pull of berry and darker pinks with ease. Tip: Stroh suggests matching your lip color with your blush, to keep the pinks in the same color family.
To get a glow like Jessica's check out these products!

From top left:
1. Add some luxe to your look with a gold shadow. Urban Decay shadow in Half Baked, $15, available at sephora.com.
2. For a high-shine, plump-looking, pink pout, look for a gloss that has micro-shimmer. Hard Candy Sweet Spot Lip Gloss in Psycedelic, $11; available at sephora.com.
3. This primer gives skin a warm, bronze hue, and provides a smooth base for concealer and foundation. Smashbox Photo Finish Bronzing Primer, $38; available at sephora.com.

Welcome to the first installment of a brand new feature on Think Fashion - Celebrity Makeup 101. We teamed up with makeup artist Sheri Stroh to bring you easy to follow steps that you can use to achieve a star worthy look! Sheri is a seasoned makeup artist and has made up the faces of several famous beauties including Penelope Cruz, Cate Blanchette and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
So check out these makeup tips, tricks, and products and have fun with your look!
It's only right that our first celebrity would be hotel heiress Paris Hilton. Her love of makeup and her ability to experiment with her look makes her the ultimate makeup junkie.

This extreme party girl definitely has her signature look down- sun-kissed skin, bronzy lids, and nude pink lips. For a look that is always camera-ready, follow these steps:
STEP ONE
Cover up any dark circles and blemishes with a long-lasting concealer, and set with powder- you want this look to last all night! Use a large fluffy brush to sweep powder lightly over your forehead, nose, and chin.
STEP TWO
Dust a shimmering peachy shadow from the lash line up to the crease. Use a darker bronze or copper shadow to define the crease. Highlight the eye area with a light gold shadow directly underneath the brow bone and dab a bit in the inner corner of your eye.
STEP THREE
For a real sex-kitten look, add black liner to the top lash line. Tip: Makeup artist Sheri Stroh recommends that you apply the liner as close to the lash line as possible, flicking it up and out at the outer corners. Finish with two coats of black mascara on the upper lashes only.
STEP FOUR
For a sun-kissed glow, use a powder bronzer. Apply bronzer with a fan brush or a stippling brush for a sheer application of color on your forehead, nose, chin, concentrating a little more color directly on your cheeks. Lastly, sweep a shimmery, pinky-peach blush to the apples of your cheeks.
STEP FIVE
For attention-getting pouty lips, look for a nude-pink lip gloss and apply it straight from the tube- no need for lip liner!

High waisted pants have been making a comeback on the fashion scene lately, and Hollywood celebrities, always on the lookout for something new, were quick to try them out.
The results were mixed - this look is not flattering on all body types, and while a high waisted pencil skirt can look extremely classic and sexy, high waisted pants are a completely different story.
This look may work in the world of high fashion where slim, long legged beauties are the norm, but this style is hard to pull off, even for petite celebs. The result often looked frumpy, extremely unflattering, and it even seemed to pack on the pounds.
While we here at Think Fashion will be skipping this trend, we thank those brave celebrities who were willing to test drive the look for us!

Fashion icon, Kate Moss, has finally revealed her new designs for High Street chain Top Shop due to go on sale in stores May 1. The supermodel has chosen Canadian model, Irina Lazareanu to star alongside her in the line's ad campaign - the first images of which were released last week. While the novelty of the rich and famous designing mass produced clothes may have worn off, Kate's collection actually has a lot of runway appeal and is more high fashion than mainstream.

The collection consists of looks that are sexy and incredibly edgy, just like Kate herself. Moss told Vogue in an interview for the May issue that her line was inspired by her own wardrobe; the designs are classic Kate. Vogue even went so far as to feature Kate on the cover of the magazine wearing one of her low-end creations - a dress that retails for under $100.
Kate's experience and influence within the fashion industry knows no bounds; she was very hands on in the creation of her clothing line, even going so far as to test drive each piece before it was able to be produced.
Not heading over to the U.K anytime soon? Never fear, her fashions will also be available for American buyers at Barneys in New York as of May 8.
