After months and months of preparation, the Miss Universe contestants were ready to take on one another last Monday night for the ultimate crowning of Miss Universe 2006. The pageant, like always, was filled with fun, fashion and fierce woman all competing for the same title. The best part of the pageant is the watching what the women wear. From the swimsuit competition to their unbelievably gorgeous evening gowns, the women were dressed head to toe in stunning pieces.

The Hottest Bikini Body

There were a number of hot bikinis for the girls to choose from. Each one of the pencil-thin women rocked their bathing suits and looked absolutely phenomenal. Puerto Rico clearly had the best beach bod and was one of the definite show-stoppers in this part of the competition. Perfectly toned and perfectly proportionate, Puerto Rico didn’t look too thin like some of the other contestants.

Her Stunning Evening Gown

Hands down, Puerto Rico definitely had my vote for best evening gown. The chains were a really different alternative to some of the other, more basic, dresses worn by some of the women. Puerto Rico’s silver, thigh high dress was a hit with the judges and the audience. Puerto Rico was a fan-favorite since the very beginning of the competition.

The Shocking Ending

Just after she was crowned as 2006’s Miss Universe, Puerto Rico fainted. Shocking to everyone, most people’s first guess was lack of food. The tiny model assured everyone that she had fainted because her evening gown was too heavy and that it was definitely not because of lack of food. She claims she eats six meals a day and talks with her nutritionist on a regular basis. I agree with her, that dress looked like it weighed enough to knock someone off their feet.   

An Honorable Mention Goes to…

Miss USA definitely deserves an honorable mention for wearing her stunning evening gown which was made by one of the contestants on Heidi Klum’s “Project Runway.” The gown was very pretty, although it looked like it was somewhat difficult to walk in.
