It's officially one week until the first awards ceremony of 2007. The Golden Globes have always been considered the predictor of Oscar nominations and some of Hollywood's most talented actors and actresses are set to attend the prestigious event. Nominations are in, presenters have been announced and women are frantically searching for the perfect dress for the event. The official countdown to the Golden Globe Awards is in effect today.
When it comes to predicting this year's winners, Leonardo Dicaprio's "The Departed" is said to be the top contender for best drama while Beyonce's "Dreamgirls" is said to be the movie to watch for when it comes to best comedy/musical.
Some of Hollywood's hottest names are set to present at this year's Golden Globes. Last year's winners, George Clooney and Rachel Weisz are geared up for the event as well as Justin Timberlake, Cameron Diaz, Hilary Swank, Sarah Jessica Parker and John Stamos.

As for this year's Miss Golden Globe - the honor goes to Jack Nicholson's daughter Lorraine Nicholson. The 16 year old actress has already had her fair share of acting experience. Lorraine appeared in Adam Sandler's movie "Click" as well as "The Princess Diaries 2" and "Something's Gotta Give".
The 2007 Golden Globe Awards air on Monday January 15th at 8pm (EST) on NBC.
