2007 Oscar Nominations are Officially In!

The long anticipated release of this year's Oscar nominations have officially been released with "DreamGirls" leading the pack with a whopping 8 nominations. While the cast of "Dreamgirls" is receiving rave reviews, the picture was not nominated for best picture unlike "Babel", "The Departed", "Letters from Iwo Jima" and "The Queen". This year's top films will battle it out for ultimate recognition at the 79th Annual Academy Awards.

Who will take home the gold at this year's ceremony? Some of the favorites include Martin Scorcese as best director for "The Departed", Forest Whitaker as best actor for "The Last King of Scotland" and Helen Mirren as best actress for "The Queen".

Regardless of who wins, you can expect a night filled with glitz, glamour and memorable acceptance speeches which are always a highlight of the night.

I dont think they choose films that..i would think of...but i guess that is how it works....oh well pirates of the carribean should have been thier somewhere but w/e
