Karl Lagerfeld showcased his newest collection for Fall 2007 yesterday in Paris. His eponymous label, one of three that he heads up, seems to take its inspiration from his own wardrobe.

Black and blue dominated the color scheme with tiny bursts of brightly colored accessories like fishnet tights, lace stockings, and fingerless gloves.
While the look was definitely restrained and even a bit austere, Lagerfeld did indulge in a little embellishment by playing with fabrics. There were sexy sheaths with a graphic mixture of matte and shine and tulle dresses embroidered with sequins (in small patches of course).
There was something a bit masculine about the collection; it seemed to channel the military with starkly tailored pieces and flat boots.
The feminine was not missing entirely - gathers and pleating kept the look from being too bleak.
