The Council of Fashion Designers of America announced this year's nominees on Monday night. 2007 marks the 25th year for the Fashion Awards, and this year, Oscar de la Renta, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough of Proenza Schouler, and Marc Jacobs are up for the Womenswear Designer of the Year award.

The fashion party, which took place at Rockefeller Center, started on a high note; President of the CFDA, Diane von Furstenberg, announced that the organization received a $5 million donation from the Geoffrey Beene Foundation. von Furstenberg remarked, "Geoffrey represented American excellence, so it's appropriate that we're renaming the Lifetime Achievement Award in his honor."
The Lifetime Achievement award, that strives to honor lifelong contributions to fashion, will be given this year to Robert Lee Morris. Another highlight of the evening was the announcement of the first ever nominee for the new American Fashion Legend Award - Ralph Lauren.
The CFDA Fashion Awards will take place on June 4.
