Lucian Matis Runway Report Fall 2007

The innovative newcomer, Lucian Matis, showed his stunning first collection, La Douce Absinthe, during Toronto Fashion Week; the collection was both visionary and incredibly artistic - an absolute feast for the eyes!

The collection is a combination of high end couture and ready to wear; when so many designers opted for minimalism this fall, Matis went for a provocative, and creative look that brought drama back to the runway.

The looks were eccentric and eclectic; a truly interesting mix of textures, details, embroidery, and fabrics. The runway was full of corsets, lace, brocades, bustles, layered skirts, and dramatic sleeves.

Ornate opulance was the theme of this show, it was more Paris couture than Toronto ready to wear. But, it was an exciting show - Lucian Matis is ready to take the world by storm!
