The new crop of summer fragrances are due to hit stores in the next few months and this year the selection is better than ever! We spritzed and sniffed our way through all the new scents to determine which fragrances are must haves this spring.
When the weather heats up, fragrances tend to lighten up, and this year's limited edition summer scents and all over body splashes are no exception. In the summer, fragrance lines release lighter versions of their popular scents - you could end up loving these more than the originals!
One significant trend stood out this season - many new fragrances have crisp notes of citrus and fruit; orange flowers and blossoms are making a comeback. For example, Marc Jacobs Orange is a light and refreshing splash, and features top notes of bergamot, mandarin, neroli, and tamarind, middle notes of lush summer flowers like watermint, freesia, and white rose, and bottom notes of moss, tonka bean, amber, musk and blonde woods. Other fresh and fruity concoctions available this spring/summer include Ralph Rocks and Miss Sixty Flower Power.
For those who love more traditional notes like rose, you're in luck! The rose is back with a vengence, but the new scents won't leave you smelling like your grandma. The new rose is classic and dewy, not powdery; the fragrances are classic and extremely feminine. If you love the scent of roses then check out Vera Wang's Truly Pink or Valentino's Rock n' Rose.
For men, there are several exciting new fragrance launches; Nautica's Island Voyage, Instinct by David Beckham, Calvin Klein's Eternity for Men Summer, and Kenneth Cole's R.S.V.P.
